The Chicago Public Library supports lifelong learning by providing free access to books, digital resources, literacy programs, and community learning opportunities across the city. CPL plays a vital role in supporting adult learners, families, and educators through inclusive and accessible services.

The Illinois Community College Board oversees adult education, workforce development, and community college programs statewide. ICCB supports adult learners through funding, policy leadership, and programs that strengthen access to education and career pathways.

The Illinois Secretary of State‘s office serves residents through a wide range of public services and also functions as the Illinois State Library. The State Library supports literacy initiatives, tutor training, book collections, and grants that help literacy programs serve communities across Illinois.

Literacy Works strengthens adult literacy programs in Chicago by providing training, resources, and professional development for staff and volunteer tutors. Their work helps programs grow capacity and deliver high-quality learning experiences for adults.

Part of the City Colleges of Chicago, Malcolm X College is a hub for education, workforce training, and community engagement. The college supports adult learners through accessible academic programs, career pathways, and a welcoming campus environment.

ScaleLIT works to strengthen adult literacy programs through capacity building, coaching, and systems-level support. By helping programs grow sustainably, ScaleLIT expands access to high-quality literacy services for adult learners.
