Gabriel Pérez

The Energy Transition Navigators at Central States SER recruit job seekers, provide prescreening, referral and tracking services for placement in Clean Energy workforce bridge and Climate Works programs through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act of Illinois.

Gabriel brings more than a decade of experience in adult education, workforce development, and community-based program leadership. He currently serves as a Navigation Supervisor with Serco-Central States, where he leads outreach initiatives, supports team development, and strengthens partnerships that connect individuals to career pathways and essential services.

Previously, Gabriel held multiple roles with scaleLIT, including Career Pathways Navigator and Special Projects Manager, where he coordinated workforce system partnerships, led community outreach efforts, and supported job seekers in identifying and accessing education and training opportunities. He has also presented on workforce systems and adult education to diverse audiences, including English language learners.

Earlier in his career, Gabriel served as Program Director for the VOCAL AmeriCorps program at Literacy Volunteers of Illinois, where he led the recruitment and placement of AmeriCorps members in adult literacy programs statewide and managed program compliance, reporting, and evaluation.

Gabriel’s work is rooted in a commitment to access, equity, and community connection. He brings a collaborative leadership style and a deep understanding of how education, workforce systems, and supportive services can work together to expand opportunity.
